BALLERiNA Pictures, Images and Photos

Elinore Marie Ocean was born March 10th, 1993. She was the second child, but none the less very loved. She didn't get a chance to know her mother. The woman died in a car accident when Elinore was barely a year old. All she remembers is bits and pieces, the way her mother's perfume smelled and the sound of her laughter. All vague memories, often more present when she's dreaming. She doesn't tend to dwell on it. She has her Grandmother who raised her, and her older sister Adele. Her Grandmother and her Sister mean the world to her, even if she refuses to admit it.

Growing up, Elinore was a quiet child. Where her Grandmother had her singing and guitar to share with Adele, Elinore often felt intrusive and chose to stay clear of either. She instead turned to something completely her own. Ballet dancing became everything to the little girl. From the first time she saw The Nutcracker on the television, she knew she wanted to grow up to play Clara. As she grew older so did her aspirations. Why just The Nutcracker? Why not Swan Lake as well? She had high hopes and big dreams Her grandmother, knowing the girl needed something to hold on to, enrolled her as soon as possible.

For Elinore's 8th birthday, although it was a bit late, their Grandmother took Elinore and Adele to see The Nutcracker. Elinore was silent through out the first half of the ballet. At intermission, she couldn't stop talking about the young woman who played Clara. Her form, her feet - it was the most words that had ever left the girls mouth. It automatically shut when the ballet began, but not for long. The young girl sat there, focusing intently on the young ballerina. A few moments later, she had a very different view. Her world was spinning, the bright lights nearly blinding her, and she stumbled. She fell, and the audience gasped. It took Elinore a few moments to realize she was on stage. Her eyes rapidly searched for her family, and she passed out as she saw herself in her seat.

Possession. A powerful power indeed, which did not make her Grandmother happy at all. Elinore wasn't pleased either. The power frightened her. If she focused too long on someone, or thought of herself as them - poof! It had a tendency to leave her weak after, so she rarely used the power. She was under the same impression her Grandmother was. Power = bad. Adele of course was excited for her own powers, where as Elinore ignored her own and tried to ignore what was going on in the world, what was happening to the "mutants" - she refused to consider herself one. She also refused to think of Adele as one, so when the time came to realize her sister ran the revengers, she didn't take it very well.

She managed her time wisely as she grew older. Between school and dance class, she had little time to make friends. She was far too concerned with being at the top in everything she did. By the time she was 12 she had already earned the nickname "Ice Princess". She never bothered to make friends with the girls she saw everyday for years on end during class. She always knew that if they knew what she could do they'd shun her. So she kept herself isolated, thriving in academics and her ballet. She learned pointe at the age of 12 when she finally was allowed. She received a pair of pink Pointe shoes for her 12th birthday.

It was during this transition that her second power appeared. Learning Pointe is a difficult process, and a long one. Often painful bruising and blistering can occur. Luckily for Elinore, or not so lucky depending on your view point, the blisters she received that caused so much pain seemed to disappear over night. Each bruise she received, each time she'd accidentally slip and land on her toes the wrong way, it would all be better by the next morning. To Elinore, the power was a double edged sword. It allowed her to learn Pointe more quickly, but it also meant she was even more of a mutant. She kept the power to herself, not wanting to worry her Grandmother.

Now, with her Grandmother sick she's being sent to New York to live with Adele. Not completely thrilled to leave her school where she's top of the class, she's been nothing but a handful. The only silver lining to her story is the dance company's in New York. There's even more chances for her there than LA, and deep down she's a bit excited about it. It was the one thing that swayed her into agreeing to go. As long as Elinore can dance, she doesn't care where it is.

Quick Facts
♥ She hates peanutbutter. She's allegic to nuts, so the mere smell of peanutbutter usually makes her feel slightly ill.
♥ Once, she "accidentally" possessed a rival of hers in dance class, causing the girl to fall and embaress herself during the audition for Clara. Elinore didn't get the part either, she was too young.
♥ Her sister and Grandmother call her "El" or "Ellie" but no on else is allowed to use the nicknames. It is Elinore, or Elinore Marie, thank you very much.
♥ Although she's 16, she looks far from it. She's actually glad. A large frame, or a chest at all would cause complications in her dancing that she'd rather deal with out. She's content with her small body as it is.
♥ She can eat as much as she wants and not gain an ounce. She often wonders if having a high metabolism is a power, because she feels it ought to be.
♥ She can't sing. She can barely hum without hurting her own ears. She isn't one for lyrics, anyway. She prefers classical music, or instrumental. She can't play any instruments either, leaving the musical realm to her sister.
♥ Sometimes, when she's feeling rebellious she'll put a streak of pink in her hair. It usually means she misses Adele, even if she wont admit it.
